PDP demands immediate release of all members in EFCC detention
The Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have demanded the immediate release of all members of their party that are currently in EFCC detention. Rising from its National Executive Committee NEC meeting in Abuja yesterday May 17th, the leadership of the party decried the "selective probe" of PDP members by the anti-graft agency. According to the party, it is
"a case of witch-hunt and unnecessary oppression aimed at silencing members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)". The party demanded that their members who have been arrested be released immediately or be charged to Court without further delay.
Nigerian Army confirms the name of the rescued Chibok girl, shares more details
There was slight confusion when the Army initially confirmed that they had indeed rescued one of the abducted Chibok school girls, named Falmata Mbalala. Young woman who was born 3 months premature & diagnosed with cerebral palsy, graduates from college
Raven Simone McFadden graduated college on May 15 with a degree in Communications and a double minor in Sociology and Psychology from Font Bonne University. Her cousin Bree wrote:
"I wish a simple Facebook post could capture how strong this woman is for making it this far. She was born 3 months premature and diagnosed with cerebral palsy.She had countless medical surgeries, therapy sessions, lost grants from the government, and had trouble with housing and assistance care. SHE NEVER LOST FOCUS & GRADUATED in 4 YEARS! WE LOVE YOU RAVEN!"
