APC insists on Deputy Senate President Ekweremadu's removal



APC says Deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremadu who is a member of PDP must be removed from office. Senator Ekweremadu who was also the deputy senate president in the last administration, was elected deputy senate president during the controversial senate leadership election on June 9th which produced Senator Bukola Saraki as Senate President.

The premiere of Blessing Egbe's Iquo's Journal took place on Friday 26th June at the Genesis Deluxe Cinema in Lekki, Lagos. The movie which stars Kate Henshaw and Femi Jacobs was very well received. Kate Henshaw who plays the lead female character Iquo could not make it to the event due to the set back she experienced the day before.

Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe has challenged US President Barack Obama by asking his hand in marriage. His comment comes at the back of the legalization of gay marriage in the US by the Supreme Court.

FG orders probe on NNPC over unaccounted N3.8trillion



The Federal government yesterday June 29th constituted a four-man committee to probe NNPC over N3.8 trillion unaccounted for by the corporation in the last three years. According to the Edo state governor, who is part of the 4-man probe committee, investigations by the federal government show that NNPC made N8.1 trillion from 2012-2015, paid N4.3 trillion to the federal government and withheld N3.8 trillion which the management of the corporation have not accounted for.

Aisha Buhari's brother, Musa Yola, denies being arrested over N300m fraud


Younger brother to Aisha Buhari, Musa Yola, has denied media reports that he was arrested on the order of President Buhari over a N300 million oil bloc fraud. Sahara Reporters had published a report earlier today claiming Yola was arrested last week on the order of the President for defrauding a businessman of N300 million with the promise to help him secure an oil bloc. Speaking with Premium Times, Mr Yola said he was shocked at the reports.

Buhari today inaugurated the National Economic Council which will be chaired by VP Yemi Osinbajo, while all the 36 state governors and the Governor of the central bank Godwin Emefiele are to serve as members.
