Unemployed graduate lands job interviews after she stood at the traffic begging for job
A photo of a graduate begging for a job which was shared on social media has prompted dozens of calls from prospective employers. Unemployed BTech: Chemical Engineering graduate, Anthea Malwandle received positive responses after standing at a busy intersection in Johannesburg, South Africa with a placard, asking for work.
When Malwandle completed her degree at the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) in 2015, she never anticipated that her job-seeking journey would be so tough.
She has been hunting for graduate and internship programmes since April 2015, to no avail. She called many companies and visited their offices to try schedule interview appointments but failed.
In desperation, Malwandle took to the street with a placard. Her story has moved many people and the determined woman says that she would love to work for petrochemical companies in the production of energy fuels.
Touched by her struggle, a Sasol employee called into the Early Breakfast Show to request a meeting with her.

Daniel Craig reportedly turns down £68 Million deal for two more Bond movies
If The Daily Mail is to be believed, Daniel Craig’s tenure as James Bond has come to an end, with the actor reportedly turning down a £68 million ($100 million) deal to return as 007 for two more movies.
“Daniel is done – pure and simple – he told top brass at MGM after Spectre,” claims the newspaper’s source. “They threw huge amounts of money at him, but it just wasn’t what he wanted.
He had told people after shooting that this would be his final outing, but the film company still felt he could come around after Spectre if he was offered a money deal.”

PDP demands immediate release of all members in EFCC detention
The Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have demanded the immediate release of all members of their party that are currently in EFCC detention. Rising from its National Executive Committee NEC meeting in Abuja yesterday May 17th, the leadership of the party decried the "selective probe" of PDP members by the anti-graft agency. According to the party, it is
"a case of witch-hunt and unnecessary oppression aimed at silencing members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)". The party demanded that their members who have been arrested be released immediately or be charged to Court without further delay.
Nigerian Army confirms the name of the rescued Chibok girl, shares more details
There was slight confusion when the Army initially confirmed that they had indeed rescued one of the abducted Chibok school girls, named Falmata Mbalala. Trade Union Congress backs out of planned NLC strike
Members of the Trade Union Congress TUC have backed out of today's planned strike action by the Ayuba Wabba led NLC. The TUC announced this after a joint meeting between Labor leaders and the Federal government yesterday night May 18th. Electricity workers, NUPENG and PENGASSAN have already signified they will not be participating in the proposed strike action.
CBN grants license to Nigeria’s first Islamic bank, Jaiz Bank
The Central Bank of Nigeria has granted license to the first Islamic Bank in Nigeria, Jaiz Bank to operate nationally. The approval was announced by the Chairman of the Bank, Umaru Mutallab at a meeting with the President-General of the Nigerian National Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Saad Abubakar IV, in Abuja on Monday May 16th.
“As a regional bank, Jaiz has operated in 12 states (in Northern Nigeria) but with the new licence we can now spread to all parts of the country. We will open branches in the 36 states of the federation"he said
LOL:::Two men bag 20 Years Jail term for illegal oil bunkering
Wisdom Afangideh and Godwin John were convicted and sentenced by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to 10 years imprisonment on each of the two count charge brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission.
They were both arrested on June 8, 2012 by officials the Department of State Service in Oku Iboku village in Ikat Adakpan LG of Akwa Ibom State, with one DAF truck (registration number XQ 926 APP Lagos) with 33,000 litres of suspected illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).
However, the convicts were also given an option of paying N3M fine each. Also the truck and the product are to be forfeited to the Federal Government.

SO SERIOUS :::NLC says it will continue with its proposed strike tomorrow
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) led by Ayuba Wabba says they will proceed with its planned strike despite this morning's injunction by the National Industrial Court restraining organized labor from embarking on its planned strike action tomorrow May 18th.
The head of information of NLC, Benson Upah, in an interview with TheCable said “NLC’s position has not shifted. The strike will go on tomorrow,” he said.
When asked if he could be quoted, he said: “Quote me the strike will go on tomorrow.”
The leadership of NLC say the take-off point for workers in Abuja is at the NLC secretariat by 8am.

Hello Linda, this is a picture of a five month old still born that was found in the toilet of a hostel of a supposed Christian school in Benin city. On the 15th of May 2016 which was aSunday the cleaners found the aborted child there and alerted the school authorities. The schools clinic evacuated the child and took it for verifications before discarding.
