ANOTHER COLLAPSED BUILDING::Many feared dead as Shopping mall in Abeokuta under construction collapses


Many people are feared dead after a four-storey shopping mall that is still under construction at Itokun in Abeokuta, Ogun state collapsed this morning. The shopping mall is reportedly being constructed by the Ogun state government. Rescue operation for those trapped in the building is ongoing.

Niger Delta Avengers Will Regret Their Actions – Military



Nigerian military has pledged to clampdown on the faceless Niger Delta militants destroying oil facilities in the oil rich region.


The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) on Tuesday, vowed to employ all available means and measures within its Rule of Engagement (RoE) to crush the new Nigeria Delta militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers, which had been recently engaged in the bombing of oil installations in the region.
The military in a statement by Acting Director, Defence said it is not unaware of the emergence of the Niger Delta region who have vowed to cripple economic activities through pipeline vandalism, oil theft and kidnap of expatriate workers in the Niger Delta region.

Police Foiled a Suicide Attempt by University Staff in Imo Who Was Tired of Life




The Police in Imo state have successfully rescued a female staff of the Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri, from committing suicide.

An eye witness has exclusively disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria how the police in Imo state on Tuesday, rescued a female staff of the Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri, from committing suicide.

It was gathered that the woman who is in her early 40s, climbed a water tank stanchion, about the height of a three-storey building, from where she threatened to jump down.

One of the anti-graft agencies in Nigeria, EFCC has prepared a top army chief for arraignment in court over financial crimes running into billions of naira.


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is set to arraign a former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Dikko Umar (Retd.), for allegedly diverting over N13.5bn during his time as the head of the Nigerian Air Force.


Punch has learnt that the commission would arraign Umar before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday (today).
A former Director of Finance and Accounts at the NAF, Air Commodore Salisu Yushau (Retd.), had revealed before the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, that some past NAF chiefs diverted N558.2m monthly from funds meant for the payment of salaries of NAF officials.
