One year of Buhari in office and Businesses are counting losses

May 29, 2016 would mark a year after the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration took over the reins of power, but with no clear direction of where the economy is headed, businesses have continued to pine under the yoke of stifling regulatory headwinds.
Many businesses are literally fighting the battle of their lives as their corporate existence is being threatened, no thanks to the rather hostile operating business environment.
Although most of the businesses had anticipated the new government would take a while for it to gather steam, they had hoped that life would be back on an even keel in no time at all. But after almost one year, that hope has remained forlorn.

Saraki's application rejected by CCT for adjournment

Senate President Bukola Saraki's trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal resumed today April 5th. At the hearing, the tribunal dismissed an application by Saraki asking for the case to be adjourned so he can make further legal consultation on the matter.



The tribunal chairman,  Justice Danladi Umar, ruled against his application, insisting that the trial commences immediately. The first witness has been called in to testify against Saraki. 

Saraki is standing trial for alleged false declaration of asset while he was governor of Kwara state.

PPPRA says No going back on fuel subsidy removal

The Federal Government says it has not reversed its decision to remove subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly called petrol. In a statement released by the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), Sotonye Iyoyo, the agency stated that contrary to media reports, what still exists is Price Modulation Policy, through which it considers and reviews pump price of PMS quarterly.

According to the FB user who shared the photos, this incident allegedly happened in Cameroon. Some people need some education, to be honest. So here's what they are alleging. That the man went to sleep the night before after he turned himself into a cockroach or a small animal and hid himself in a truck rim...but forgot to wake at dawn. That he turned to his human form after forgetting where he hid himself the night before and got stuck in this rim. Now, he's being labeled a wizard.
